FORK!!

A typical Sunday evening buzzing with people at the local fast food joint:

me: Anna,fork please?
him: 10 rs

no anna fork..

he goes rushing to the refrigerator...

no no not coke, fork!!
sprite also available..

no na FORK!!
ohh fuk ah??


what!! no... F - O - R - K!!
OOoh fuk...

ok ok...yeah fuk only anna...

and i finally get my fork!!

Next day in class:
the fork() system call creates a child process....

OMG!! not again!!

The Excuse

Ten minutes before assignment submission:

I haven’t done my assignment again… what will I tell her??

Forgot about it
Too common

Didn’t know about it
Too ancient

Lost it
Too lame

Got stolen
Too dramatic

Spilt milk all over it
Told last week

Oh you meant 13th, I thought 30th
Perfect…

The teacher enters:
I have some work to do, I’ll collect the assignment tomorrow.

Me: uhhh….. but I prepared so much!!

It’s that time of the year again…

The New Year has finally dawned on us and about time too!
It’s time to make starry-eyed resolutions and later lament about how “close” we were to finally fulfilling them.
It’s been one loonnng year but let’s not live in the past but look ahead into what the future has in store for us.

Yes draw the curtains, switch on the smoke screens and bring the crystal ball because Mr. Nostradamus here is going to solve the enigma of 2k10!!….hmm... I don’t think Nostradamus used a crystal ball, did he?

Predictions:

Times now and NDTV are suddenly going to unearth a decade-old case where “justice has not been served” and are doing to go bonkers over it!

Another politician is going to be unwillingly dragged from relative obscurity to public glare with nothing but boxers to cover his manly might.

After free rice, spectacles, sarees, TVs, it’s only a matter of time before Karuna’s going to give away backstage passes for a Linkin Park concert.

Deva’s going to rip another foreign song and blow his own trumpet.

India is going to bow out off the T20 World Cup (again) in shame eventhough its captain Mr. Dhoni piles on the runs in a determined, patient and carefully crafted manner. Now why are we losing??

On a more personal note, I might actually successfully complete two years of college!!

Other predictions are welcome!

Let’s hope and pray that the new year’s a piece of caramel dipped, chocolate iced double-layered cake!!
